David Trimble warns that glib
comparisons of the successful peace process in Northern Ireland to the Israel-Palestine conflict may do more damage than good. (His article was posted last week, but I found it only today). Reading history, it turns out, requires more than facile unthinking
comparisons (and, I'd add: knowing facts can help). This one appeared in the Guardian, making this the second
surprising link today.
We are sons of our time, things that had gone well with one not necessary goes on now. If History is our teacher we must have realise that we should learn more of humanity and try to understand each others. To look so much to our past may only brings vain of glory or revenge for pain.
