Can the New York Times Count till Ten?
If you read this correspondence between Isable Kershner (NYT) and Lenny Ben David, the answer seems to be: No, the NYT isn't good at counting up to ten.
Barry Rubin brought up the Bible and pointed out the collective thrust of US policy is to deliver the Middle East to Iran.
Hillary Clinton says the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is "unsustainable." On what basis? What evidence? The US Administration is led by people who have no idea what they're doing and they're leading their own country off the cliff.
And oh Syrian dictator Bashar Al Assad, who happily keeps murdering his own people, is viewed by the US as "a reformer." Why give up butchering your own people when you have such high praise from America?
The Arab Spring looks sets to turn into an Arab Winter.
I used to enjoy reading Kershner when she used to write for the Jerusalem Report years ago.
She wrote interesting stories from unusual places with fresh perspectives.
Over the past several years, it's clear to me that she's changed drastically. And no, not for the better (thought that would depend on one's politics, wouldn't it?).
Or sense of truth. (Truth? What's that?)
One can certainly speculate why she's changed, but it's too bad.
Not much to do about it though, except read her and her colleagues on the NYT with a ton of salt.
Too bad. But life goes on. (Except, of course, when it doesn't.)
Disgusting. That´s what ideology does to people. Everything and anything goes, as long as it´s for "the cause".
