Hamas War Crimes

Sometimes a picture really is better than 100,000 words. Especially when it's a typical picture, which cannot be put into any context except the most simple one in the picture, and the rest of the 99,989 words are intended to obfuscate, distort, lie and malign.

  1. Yaacov,
A caption would help my understanding of the photo, e.g., location, date, time of day.

  2. I find Israel's leaders willingness' to accede to a ceasefire to be understandable for reasons of realpolitik.

But its outrageous to equate Hamas terrorists' attacks on Jewish communities and civilians with Israel's acts of self-defense to protect them and a ceasefire premised on the notion both sides are morally equivalent will not last for for long.

Hamas is evil and no ceasefire will ever disguise its true nature.

  4. Ditto. What am I looking at? Is this the exhaust trail from a rocket launched in the midst of a city?

  5. Most people reading the media here in the US would think of Gaza as a bunch of tents, or, at best, wooden shacks. But look using Google Earth and you see a city....

I am assuming the building in the background to this photo are apartment complexes. Paid for by my tax dollars?

  6. Clearly this is a photo of a US supplied, Zionist Apartheid Oppressor missile killing heroic Palestinian civilians who were merely trying to eke out a living in the world's largest open air concentration camp. Isn't it obvious?

  7. It's a missile launched from a building top in a civilian area of Gaza. No wonder innocent civilians get killed as Israel is forced to protect herself from cowards like this.

  9. oh and as to the possibilities for committing "war crimes" these according to Fresnozionism have been vastly "improved" i.e. there are now 3000 instead of 1800 Untouchables. It doesn't mention cemetaries though, thus I have some hope that the IDF will be allowed to get the thugs shown in that recent video.

which makes me ask, is maybe Mr. Goldstone's recent hemming and hawing meant as him applying to get entrusted with the next investigation the HRC-thugs deem necessary?

btw since Goldstone complained that Israeli investigations take too long - I just learned that a German investigation into whether the death of Afghan soldiers by "friendly fire" was their fault or not is still ongoing after a year - apparently the military said they are innocent but the courts can't agree whether they agree. Where is the international outcry?

  10. Mark -

According to Getty Images, the photo was taken on April 9th 2011. But of course, in this case, it isn't very important, since there are dozens of similar photos, if not more than dozens, taken in recent years so that it's a standard image. Palestinians shooting rockets at Israeli civilians from the heart of civilians neighborhoods in Gaza.

Then again, perhaps it's not banal. If people like Nycerbarb don't recognize the image immediately, perhaps such pictures are never shown in non-Israeli media? And if that's the case, what does it tell us?

  11. Yaacov (and Silke @ #3, #9, #10), Thank you for your comments and references.

I recognized the image was of a missile or rocket launch. I wanted to be able to link to your website and the image and appropriate info. You are correct that such images are not shown in US print media (I have a subscription to the Washington Post). So, for example, if the image had been taken in the morning (my guess) an additional point to make is that the missile/rocket was launched when children are vulnerable because they are traveling to school. Following the Elder of Ziyon's example, a set of such images (and identifying info) would make great placards for counter-protests in IAW.

By the way, I recently had an argument with someone about dividing Jerusalem. I went to my computer, and showed that fellow your discussion about Jerusalem. His eyes were opened.

I very much enjoy visiting your website. I value your time, effort, and knowledge. I hope you understand that I did not intend hostile criticism.

  12. ...standard image....

Yes, but it should be emphasized---again---that no one cares.

    At best.

At worst, they will say that Israel deserves it.

Somce until Israel decides to commit suicide, it has no justification to protest against these forms of resistance.

(Put another way, if Israel did commit suicide, these forms of resistance would not have to occur. The Palestinians could decimate each, and then the neigboring countries could vie with other for control of Palestine, and no one would lose a moment's sleep.)

A Nobel peace prize well earned (finally).

And yet, and yet, the madness has gone on for too, too long. When will it stop?

    Only when Israel is erased?

Afraid so, but then, not even then....

In the mean time, new ideas are desperately needed. For example, this imaginative initiative, proposed by one brave, intelligent and fearless woman:

Looks to me like the the Hon. Richard J. and Noleen Goldstone Neo-Natal Clinic and Drop-In Centre for Genetic Diseases, along with the Goldstone Children's Library (same building, different entrance).

    Not 100% sure, though.
