Thanksgiving and the Jewish Problem

I'd like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to readers of the American persuasion, and also to wish them much patience on their travels.

I have it from a reliable source that the first pilgrims to celebrate Thanksgiving, way back in the early 17th century, partook not only of Turkey and cornbread but also of potato kugel. So for the veggies among you, take heart!

Well, it isn't Thanksgiving for y'all there, but a happy day to you nonetheless. I suppose it would be possible to have a kosher turkey dinner. :-)

Actually, there needn't be any problem with having a kosher turkey. It can be a bit dry, but the cranberry sauce helps deal with that...

Kosher Turkeys are moister than the regular type. A few years ago someone discovered: brining - which isn't much different from making a turkey kosher - rubbing and letting it sit in the salt rub.
But of course cranberries, yams, and mashed potatoes help.
