New Middle East

Dry Bones has a picture that pretty much sums it all up. The thing is, he drew it 20 years ago, as Operation Desert Storm was drawing to its [successful?] close.

The only thing that hasn't changed is that Israel is still required to cede land to make peace and will be condemned for defending itself.

In an unstable region Israel pays the price of stability.

Exactly.

Its remarkable how prescient the cartoon is. Its one that never needs to be updated.

Nothing of substance will change in the Middle East in the foreseeable future.

We must give credit to Escher for coming up with those amazing "impossible" drawings of his!

that´s basically it. The region is a huge mess, except for Israel, which then has to pay the price. Welcome to the modern world.

BTW, Obama-mia is totally lost.
