Economist on the Economy

One of my regrets about the Economist is that while they write a lot about Israel, they rarely write about its economy. If they did, this is what it might look like.

I heard it on audio and there they were full of praise for Israel's success on start-ups but full of gloom on the now switching into gear attempts of its governments to get really big firms going.

trust them to always find hairs in the soup.

it's in the final part of the audio

not every effort to demonize Israel succeeds. Some meet surprising resistance.

Well, if they write about Israel's economy as they do about Israel, I for one will not put too much faith in it.
The Economist magazine sullies reputation for independent thought with high profile anti-Israeli rant

As Robin Shepherd writes:
Quite so. All that the Economist article amounts to is the standard anti-Israeli rant. For writing it and giving it such prominence, the editorial team that wrote the piece will certainly make friends in the British Foreign Office and the UN General Assembly. And that is presumably what they were aiming at. But sadly, in so doing they have simultaneously made enemies out of the history books and sullied a once outstanding reputation for independent thinking, sound judgement and basic principles of editorial integrity.

Scads do, though, and it's more than more than more than enough, thank you very much.

loved this comment there:
Nth-Person, where is this magic "infinite funds" that Israeli firms have access to? Do they draw it from the Global Jewish Conspiracy Bank or just get the Elders of Zion to invest?

Actually we don't need to imagine, the Palestinians get over 1000USD per capita and their most famous contribution to society is??

Did you read Robin Shepherd's post
The Economist magazine sullies reputation for independent thought with high profile anti-Israeli rant ?

** “The Economist pretends it is calling for pressure on “both sides,” but it is clear that it is talking about leaning mainly on Israel, to push it back to the 1967 lines and denying its right to defensible borders”.

Quite so. All that the Economist article amounts to is the standard anti-Israeli rant.
