Bad Taste at Auschwitz

A group of Knesset members participated in the two-day March of the Living program at Auschwitz a few weeks ago, and complained bitterly about the food. According to the Hebrew-language original of the article, they also complained about having to fly tourist class.

Sheesh.

File under: Jewish Humor.

(A variegated topic, of which Tikkun Magazine's awarding its "Ethics prize" to Richard Goldstone is just another variant....)

Note: On occasion, it has also been known to be quite funny...

Did they complain about the small portions, too?

in canadian political terms, they were 'entitled to their entitlements.' In other words they think they are above everyone else and deserved to be treated so.

I've been a (cruise ship) tourist guide for 2 summers on a Greek island in the 70s and my summary is:
Europeans and Latin-Americans become tourists for the sole purpose of finding fault and a chance to behave like Royalty mistreated.
(US-Americans, Canadians and Australians are easy going to a fault - there were no Asians or Israelis then)

Should have done the trip in cattle cars.

They complained about the food and the accommodations when Jews were packed like cattle into boxcars without food, heat, sanitation and the like to be sent to Auschwitz to be murdered and that is what has Israel MKs upset?

They shame the Jewish people for degrading one of the terrible crimes in the history of the people. They are fortunate to be alive. Those who were sent to Auschwitz weren't so fortunate.

Yup, its in bad taste, indeed.
